Sand Hollow State Park

Sand Hollow, a red-sand desert landscape centered on a bright blue reservoir ideal for boating, swimming, fishing, and scenic drives, with trails for hiking and trail running around the reservoir edge. Summers can be quite hot; spring and fall offer the most comfortable weather, and winds are usually lighter early in the day. The park draws water-sports enthusiasts and families during warm months.

  • Sand Hollow Trail

Trails wind through red sand dunes and along the bright blue reservoir shoreline. The terrain consists of deep sand and rolling desert hills with expansive water views. Sunrise and sunset are especially stunning as light reflects off the water. Spring and fall are most comfortable; summer can be very hot.

Camping

Developed campground with RV/tent sites (water and electric hookups available). Dispersed camping on nearby BLM lands.

Spring and fall ideal. Summer great for water recreation but very hot.
